Are They Right?
Purpose:
To challenge the things they made you believe about yourself.
Instructions:
Start by writing down the worst thing they made you believe about yourself.
For example: “You’re unstable,” “You’re manipulative,” or “You ruin everything.”
Once you’ve named it, look it up.
Google the word or phrase.
Find out what it actually means.
Read a few definitions or articles about it.
Learn in what psychological or behavioral context it’s typically used.
Then take a moment to ask: Does this really describe me?
If it doesn’t — good. That belief was never yours to carry.
You can begin letting it go and taking small actions that reflect who you truly are.
Start Here: Who Are You?
If it does describe you, that’s okay too.
It’s likely a response to the abuse you’ve experienced.
We recommend getting support from a mental health professional to help you work through it.
Final Thoughts:
Their damage isn’t permanent. You’re allowed to change.
And this is one way you can do that.
