Was That Dumb?
Purpose:
To help you determine whether or not you made a dumb decision.
Instructions:
For smaller, everyday decisions…
Start by defining what “dumb” actually means.
We define it as:
When something negative happens because you didn’t think carefully or use good judgment.
Examples:
- You failed an exam because you thought it would be easy so you didn’t study.
- You stayed up all night watching YouTube and missed an important appointment.
- You can’t afford rent this month because you impulsively bought concert tickets.
The next time something negative happens, ask yourself:
“Did this happen because I didn’t think carefully or use good judgment?”
For bigger, life-direction decisions…
Think about the direction you want your life to go.
This could range anywhere from just surviving the moment to becoming a world leader.
Then ask yourself:
“Did this move me in the direction I’d like my life to go?”
Final Thoughts:
If the answer is yes, that’s okay — it’s called being human.
If you’d like, take 5–10 minutes to think about what you could do differently next time to help prevent it.
If the answer is no, that’s okay too — it’s still called being human.
Sometimes we get it wrong, sometimes we get it right.
That’s the beautiful thing about life.
