Definition

This is the process of acknowledging and accepting your trauma experience and the feelings that came from it as real and understandable.

What to Do:

You allow your experience to be heard and believed by a safe external source, ideally a mental health professional who understands narcissistic abuse.

Why:

It gives you an accurate understanding of what happened to you and creates a stable foundation from which you can begin healing and moving forward with your life.
