What to Do:

You need to identify why you’re experiencing social isolation.

Then outline the steps you can take to change it and practice taking them in ways that feel safe.

And use healthy coping strategies whenever you’re feeling isolated.

Why:

When you know the cause of your social isolation, you get a better idea of what you can do about it.

Social isolation is a normal human experience.

But some people are better at responding to it than others.

There are many reasons for this, one of them being narcissistic abuse.

If you’ve experienced it, you may struggle with social isolation more than someone who hasn’t.

But don’t think of it as something that’s “wrong” with you, because it isn’t.

It’s a skill you get to build, not a flaw you have to carry.

And skills are something anyone can build with practice.
