Protecting Your Reality
Purpose:
To help you stay grounded in reality when someone tries to gaslight you.
Instructions:
When someone says or does something that feels like gaslighting, mentally flag it.
As soon as you’re safe, write or type a quick note that includes:
– The date and time
– What they said or did
– What you said or did
– Who else was involved (if anyone)
– How it made you feel
Keep these notes somewhere only you can access.
Like a private notebook or a secure notes app.
The next time you start second-guessing yourself, review your notes.
They’ll help you stay grounded in the truth.
