Hide and Seek


Purpose:

To help you begin reclaiming the parts of yourself you lost due to narcissistic abuse.

Instructions:

Write down one thing they took from you.

For example, your cognitive functioning.

Next, Google what that trait or quality actually means.

“What is cognitive functioning?”

Once you have a good understanding of what it means, think of ways you can start improving it.

For example, for cognitive functioning, you could play chess.

If you’re feeling stuck or unsure here, try asking an AI tool like ChatGPT the following:

“What are some small, practical ways I can improve my [insert quality]?”

Then, pick one idea and give it a try.

Final Thoughts:

This isn’t something you commit to for a day, a week, or even a month.

You’re probably not going to reclaim the parts of yourself you lost in a short amount of time.

So you’ve got to think long-term here.

But that’s okay, because it’s what healing is all about.
