Our Team’s Guidelines for Working with Members

Our Primary Focus:

Our primary focus is to help people overcome the effects of narcissistic abuse.

Our Approach:

To help people overcome the effects of narcissistic abuse they’re experiencing, we:

1.) Create a Safe Space

We create a safe space where members feel seen, heard, respected, and understood.

2.) Establish a Collaborative and Supportive Relationship

Our approach is built on a partnership.

This is not a teacher-student dynamic; instead, we work alongside members as equals.

Together, we focus on helping them overcome the effects of narcissistic abuse they’re experiencing and build a life that reflects who they truly want to be.

3.) Provide Psychoeducation

We provide members with clear, practical information to help them understand the effects of narcissistic abuse and how it impacts their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

4.) Develop Personalized Strategies

There’s never a one-size-fits-all approach to overcoming the effects of narcissistic abuse.

We create personalized and practical strategies tailored to each member’s unique situation.

We continuously look for opportunities to adjust and refine our guidance to ensure it fits their individual needs and circumstances.

5.) Progress-Focused Approach

The most common frustration people come to us with is:

“I feel like I’ve been endlessly talking about the narcissist and the effects I’m experiencing but not doing anything about them.”

So, our focus is to help them create meaningful, forward momentum while maintaining a collaborative and supportive relationship.

Of course, there will be sessions where they don’t need or want a solution—they just want to feel heard, seen, and understood.

That’s okay, and we’ll always be here for them.

But at the same time, our goal is to help them create meaningful forward momentum.

This is because they deserve to live free from the effects of narcissistic abuse and build a life that reflects who they truly want to be.

Role Clarity:

You are a licensed mental health professional, but you are not their therapist.

This means you cannot:

  • Diagnose mental health disorders
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Offer treatment for substance abuse
  • Conduct formal psychological assessments
  • Prescribe medication

If you feel that a member needs support beyond the scope of our program, you are required to notify Juliana or Elijah Akin immediately via email at [email protected]
